建盞是黑瓷的代表，是宋朝皇室御用茶具，宋代八大名瓷之一，因產地為宋朝建寧府，故名建盞。

Jianzhuang is the representative of black porcelain, the imperial tea set of Song Dynasty, one of the eight famous porcelain of Song Dynasty, because its origin is Jianning Palace of Song Dynasty, so Jianzhuang is named.

建盞都用正燒，故口沿釉層較薄，而器內底聚釉較厚；外壁往往施半釉，以避免在燒窯中底部產生粘窯。

建盞表面采用高礦物石灰釉，富含鐵質，長期使用可軟化水質，有益健康，因而，品茶過程中，建盞斑紋主要有曜變、鷓鴣斑、油滴、兔毫等，這些建盞的名稱也是根據紋飾命名的。不同的溫度，不同的窯位，這是人工難以控制的，也就導致燒制過程的不可控，窯變效果就豐富，加上氧化鐵含量高的坯體難以承受高溫變化，一只完美無瑕的建盞是很難的。

Different temperatures and different kiln positions are difficult to control manually, which leads to uncontrollable firing process, rich kiln transformation effect, and the high iron oxide content of the green body is difficult to withstand high temperature changes, a perfect Calendula is very difficult.

釉在高溫環境下為液態，極易流動，因此造成掛釉現象，俗稱“釉淚”、“釉滴珠”。掛釉現象往往會使得一些建盞更具個性。建盞胎質含鐵量較高所致，因而截面色黑或灰黑、黑褐；胎骨厚實堅硬，叩之有金屬聲，俗稱“鐵胎”，建盞胎體厚重；胎內蘊含細小氣孔，利于茶湯的保溫。
