In Qing Dynasty, the foundry of machine-made copper round began in Guangdong and imitated Hong Kong Tongxian machine-made copper round.Comparing with square hole copper coin, machine-made copper round is finer in casting, more commercial and smooth in circulation.The following year, imitation casting was permitted in the coastal provinces along the Yangtze River.Later, all parts of the country started to cast copper round.Foundry time began in 1900 (26 years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty), ended in 1911 (three years of Xuantong), circulation time only more than ten years.The central part of the coin is "Daqing Copper coin" with four Chinese characters, embedding a small character "Chuan" to represent the place name. The upper part is the Manchu character "Daqing Copper coin". The two sides are the year "You". The middle part is "Duzhi" and the lower part is "Ten Papers for making money". 此錢幣錢面中央為“大清銅幣”四個漢字，內嵌一小字“川”代表地名，上端是滿文“大清銅幣”字樣，兩側為年份“已酉”，邊緣中間分別“度支部”，下端為“當制錢十文”；錢背中央為蟠龍，栩栩如生，上端是“宣統年造”，下端英文“Tai-Ching Ti-KuoCopperCoin(大清帝國銅幣)”字樣。
度支部是清代掌管財政事務的機構。清代原由戶部理財，清光緒三十二年，改組部院各衙門，將戶部更名為度支部，列銜于戶部之上，其原掌管的民政事劃歸民政部，主管官為度支大臣，因其在四川鑄造的錢幣上用“度支部”做試運行，后期因為歷史原因未推廣到其他省份，導致像此枚“大清銅幣度支部川字版當制錢十文”。上面的包漿銹也見證了其歷史年代的沉積，不難看出它明顯的歷史過渡性特征，該銅幣雖然歷經滄桑，但紋路依然隱約可見。其是近代中國錢幣中的精品，有著歷史熏陶，是價值很高的革命文物，具有深遠的歷史紀念意義；同時，還是考古和研究中國歷史文化難得的實物。存世量極為稀少，尤其是品相好的更為稀缺，因此很受收藏愛好者青睞。
