此霽藍釉青花盤中魚兒歡快悠游水藻間，形態(tài)寫實靈動，神態(tài)溫怡自然，甚為獨特難得。畫面通景裝飾，繁而不亂，精細生動。青花色澤濃淡有致，藝匠絕技巧工，擅用鈷青濃淡分五色，層次豐富多變。靛藍畫骨，淺青敷色，盡寫游魚妍姿。至于蓮葉，則以針剔鈷藍，露纖白脈絡(luò)，大葉曲沿上更綴苔點，巧匠或蓄意增其窯燒黑疵，營造盛極將枯、夏盡臨秋之勢。使整個盤面既生動又不失莊重典雅，極具藝術(shù)觀賞性，值得收藏賞玩。
藍釉也叫霽藍、霽藍。曾經(jīng)，古人評價顏色釉瓷器時特別看重藍釉瓷器，究其原因，一方面是藍釉瓷器多為高溫釉，燒制難度大，另一方面則因為燒制藍釉所用的氧化鈷原料稀少。而鈷是青花的呈色劑，融在釉中，即可燒成鈷藍釉，呈色十分穩(wěn)定。但是色彩鮮艷的藍釉，除釉色純凈外，尚須有潔白的胎質(zhì)映襯，方能顯現(xiàn)出藍如寶石的理想釉色。自元代發(fā)明高溫鈷藍釉后，明清時又出現(xiàn)了回青、灑藍和天藍等釉色，絢爛多彩，令人稱贊。
