“咸豐”是清文宗的年號，咸豐年間正值太平天國革命運動的高潮時期。此時民怨沸騰，清政府為了茍延殘喘，在錢幣鑄行上大做文章，將財政危機轉嫁到老百姓身上。相繼推出“咸豐通寶”、“咸豐重寶”、“咸豐元寶”種類繁多的錢幣。咸豐重寶其中以寶臺、漳、福、南、鞏局為貴，寶鞏局是清代甘肅省的鑄錢局。康熙六年開，不久停。雍正五年遷到蘭州改名寶鞏局，七年又停。咸豐五年重設，至同治三年廢止，因此，除乾隆、嘉慶外，歷朝"鞏"字錢均少，南昌康熙寶鞏更少。正所謂物以稀為貴。

Baogong Bureau was the money-making Bureau of Gansu Province in Qing Dynasty. Kangxi began six years ago and stopped soon. Yongzheng moved to Lanzhou in five years and changed its name to Baogong Bureau. It stopped seven years later. Xianfeng was rebuilt in five years and abolished in Tongzhi in three years. Therefore, except Qianlong and Jiaqing, the word "Gong" in successive dynasties had less money, and Kangxi Baogong in Nanchang had less money. It is precisely what is called scarcity.
