光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。十九世紀(jì)末期，兩次鴉片戰(zhàn)爭的失敗和太平天國的打擊，使得清朝的部分官僚開始認(rèn)識(shí)到西方堅(jiān)船利炮的威力。為了解除內(nèi)憂外患，鎮(zhèn)壓太平天國，實(shí)現(xiàn)富國強(qiáng)兵，徐圖中興，以維護(hù)清朝統(tǒng)治，他們開始學(xué)習(xí)西方文化及先進(jìn)的技術(shù)，展開了洋務(wù)運(yùn)動(dòng)。在其“師夷長技以制夷”思想指導(dǎo)下，輪船、火車、槍炮等都被歸入改革之列，鑄幣業(yè)亦受影響。光緒十三年，兩廣總督張之洞向清政府奏請(qǐng)并得到批準(zhǔn)，于是購買外國造幣設(shè)備，在廣東率先設(shè)立錢局首鑄機(jī)制錢幣，其后，各省紛紛仿效，購置國外機(jī)械鑄造銀、銅元。四川省造光緒元寶就在此背景下應(yīng)世而生，極富歷史感。
Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. At the end of the nineteenth century, the failure of the two Opium Wars and the attack of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom made some bureaucrats of the Qing Dynasty realize the power of the western strong ships and artillery. In order to relieve internal and external troubles, suppress the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, realize the prosperity of the country and strengthen the army, Xu Tuxing, and maintain the rule of the Qing Dynasty, they began to learn western culture and advanced technology, and launched the Westernization Movement. Under the guidance of his thought of "dividing the barbarians with skills to control the barbarians", ships, trains, guns and guns were all included in the reform, and the coinage industry was also affected. In the thirteenth year of Guangxu, Governor Zhang Zhidong of Guangzhou and Guangzhou invited and approved the Qing government, so he bought foreign coinage equipment and set up the first machine-made coins of the money Bureau in Guangdong. After that, provinces followed suit and purchased foreign machine-made silver and copper coins. Under this background, Sichuan Chuangguang Xu Yuanbao came into being, which is full of historical sense.

文中藏品為四川省造光緒元寶銀幣，面值庫平七錢二分，背面為典型大頭龍紋飾，品相佳，包漿明顯。正面點(diǎn)圈內(nèi)鐫漢文和滿文“光緒元寶”字樣，上鐫“四川省造”四字，下鐫“庫平七錢二分”六字，兩旁鐫花飾。背面蟠龍居中，龍紋描繪的極其壯麗美觀，線條粗細(xì)均勻，錢幣背面外環(huán)英文，并鐫有“7”和“2”阿拉伯?dāng)?shù)字，兩旁鐫小花飾。中間主體圖案為一條五爪龍，四只龍爪皆張開，龍頭正面朝人，龍眼圓睜，龍?bào)w布滿龍鱗，龍鰭清晰可辨，龍尾分七叉。整條龍被云朵環(huán)繞。此枚錢幣邊齒分明，包漿自然，保存較為完好，具有較高的歷史考究價(jià)值和收藏價(jià)值。幣錢文書寫有范，筆劃有力，字形結(jié)構(gòu)協(xié)調(diào)，布局端正規(guī)矩。銀色自然，設(shè)計(jì)巧妙，鑄工精良。
The collection is made of Guangxu Yuanbao silver coin in Sichuan Province. Its face value is seven cents and two cents. On the back is typical dragon decoration with good quality and obvious pulping. The front dot circle contains the words "Guangxu Yuanbao" in Chinese and Manchu, the four words "Made in Sichuan Province" on the top, the six words "Kuping Qian Bian" on the bottom, and the decorations on both sides. The dragon on on the back is in the middle. The dragon pattern is extremely magnificent and beautiful. The lines are even and thick. The back of the coin is surrounded by English, with "7" and "2" Arabic numerals and small flower ornaments on both sides. The main design is a five-clawed dragon with four claws open. The front of the dragon head is facing people. The longan is round and the dragon body is covered with dragon scales. The dragon fins are clearly distinguishable and the dragon tail is divided into seven branches. The whole dragon was surrounded by clouds. This coin has clear edges and teeth, natural pulp, relatively intact preservation, high historical value and collection value.
