袁大頭為辛亥革命后袁世凱為了解決軍費和提高個人政治地位而發行，因這些銀元鑄有他的側身圖像而得名。此枚中華民國三年袁大頭為甘肅版本，銀幣正面中央圖案為袁世凱戎裝左側面像，雕刻極其精細，連細小的毛發亦清晰可見，頭像上方為“中華民國三年”六字，民字帶一點，“甘肅”二字橫穿左右。字體清秀，灑脫自然，筆畫剛勁有力。袁大頭在貨幣收藏界素有“銀元之寶”之稱，它是中國近千種近代銀幣中影響最大的銀元品種，也是近代中國幣制變革中的一個重要角色。背面兩條嘉禾左右交互，下系結帶，紋飾線條流暢自然，浮雕感強烈，中鑄“壹圓”字樣。包漿自然，流通使用痕跡明顯，品相較好，值得收藏。
