吉語錢。讀成“開元通寶”能明顯體會到吉語就是“開元”，而讀成“開通元寶”卻無法體現任何吉語。故綜合以上分析，《舊唐書》的記載是正確，可靠的，而錢文的正確讀法就是“開元通寶”。
On the basis of literature and history, the word "Kaiyuan" in the pronunciation of "Kaiyuan Tongbao" appeared at the latest in the early Eastern Han Dynasty. Ban Gu, a famous scholar and historian in the early Eastern Han Dynasty, repeatedly mentioned the word "Kaiyuan" in his articles. In his Hanshu Li Xunzhuan, he wrote: "Hanxing has been in existence for 200 years, and the beginning of history, the emperor descended to the right of the genius, and the Han State was again ordered to do so." He also wrote in "Dong Du Fu" that "the great man's Kaiyuan also strives for cloth clothes to ascend the throne." "Kaiyuan" in both places refers to the founding of a country and the opening of a new era. As for the word "Tongbao", it was originated by Ouyang Xun, meaning treasures in circulation. Therefore, coins began to have "Tongbao" in the Tang Dynasty. The word "Kaitong" in the ancient books before the Tang Dynasty refers to the meaning of "Tongtong", "dredging" and "recommendation". The word "Yuan Bao" is recorded in Chen Shou's Records of the Three Kingdoms in the Western Jin Dynasty and refers to rare talents. But neither of them can match the meaning of Qian Wen at all. Therefore, it is natural to read "Kaiyuan Tongbao" on the basis of literature and history. However, reading "Kaitong Yuanbao" lacks the support of literature and history, so it seems abrupt. In addition, from the spiritual connotation, "Kaiyuan Tongbao" can reflect the all-embracing, magnificent and enterprising spirit of the Tang Dynasty, which is also in line with the background of the Tang Dynasty. But Kaitong Yuanbao can't embody any positive spirit. In terms of casting period, Kaiyuan Tongbao, as a non-annual money, has a long casting period. The long-standing secret of Kaiyuan Tongbao lies in that it is regarded as lucky money by the rulers. Read "Kaiyuan Tongbao" can clearly realize that Jiyu is "Kaiyuan", but read "Kaiyuan Tongbao" can not reflect any Jiyu. Therefore, based on the above analysis, the record of Old Tang Shu is correct and reliable, and the correct reading of Qian Wen is "Kaiyuan Tongbao".
