至道元寶錢，書體分真、行、草三體。該錢青銅質，錢體呈熟舊的黑色氧化層，與舊錢譜記載的其錢直徑和重量相符。至道元寶行書光背，有銅，鐵兩種。李如森著《中國古代鑄幣》第235頁云:“（至道元寶錢）系御書錢。按太宗酷愛書法，淳化三年，命王著審定歷代法帖，定名《淳化閣帖》。”宋太宗將《淳化閣帖》運用到“至道元寶”真、行、草三體書法的心得和墨跡。
