建國后，1951年由中央人民政府財政部印制“軍用支糧證”，即行軍糧票，是建國后最早的軍用糧票。此后，從1957年至2000年，糧食部、商業(yè)部、國內貿易部和國家糧食局先后9次印刷、發(fā)行過不同版面的軍糧票。其中，1957年和1958年，糧食部正式印制發(fā)行“軍用糧定額支票”，品種有面粉、大米、粗糧、馬料四種，面額分別為50斤、100斤、1000斤、5000斤，票面有編號，是部隊領糧、領料的憑證。為了方便領薪金的軍官和軍隊在編職工購糧，1960年又印制了“軍用價購糧票”。
