釉里紅瓷是漢族傳統(tǒng)陶瓷中的藝術(shù)珍品，屬于元代中期景德鎮(zhèn)漢族勞動(dòng)人民的重要發(fā)明之一。是元代景德鎮(zhèn)窯創(chuàng)燒的一種釉下彩繪，釉里紅即釉下的紅色，它是以氧化銅作著色劑，于胎上繪畫(huà)紋飾后，罩施透明釉，在1300℃高溫還原焰氣氛中燒成。因紅色花紋在釉下，故稱釉里紅瓷。它的制作過(guò)程非常復(fù)雜，原因是銅離子對(duì)溫度極為敏感，在窯爐中火候不到，呈現(xiàn)黑紅色或灰紅色;火候銷(xiāo)過(guò)銅離子便揮發(fā)，從釉層中逸出，呈現(xiàn)特有的飛紅現(xiàn)象或干脆退色，紋飾不連貫。當(dāng)時(shí)燒柴窯很難控制窯溫，只有憑把樁師父的經(jīng)驗(yàn)與取出火照對(duì)比，無(wú)法大規(guī)模生產(chǎn)。數(shù)量極少，可謂鳳毛麟角。
