清代機制銅圓的鑄造始于1900年（清朝光緒二十六年），止于1911年（宣統三年）。鑄造流通時間盡管只有十余年，但其鼎盛時期全國共有十七省二十局開機鑄造銅圓。十七省二十局先后鑄造的當十銅圓，各不相同，版式繁多。僅以明顯區別劃分，其版式就有數百種之多。如以細微區別劃分，其版式在千種以上。因此當代銅圓收藏愛好者每每以搜尋不同版式的銅圓為最大樂事。

該幣直徑3cm厚1.6mm，包漿熟舊，銅幣正面：上緣為“宣統三年”四字，下緣為“百枚當銀幣一圓”七字，中間為珠紋圈，圈內有雙嘉禾紋及豎“十文”二字。背面：外緣為豎讀“大清銅幣”四字等距分布，中間連珠紋圈，圈內為一蟠龍紋。整體觀之，制作精細，造型規整，圖案設計簡潔大方。
