觀世音菩薩(梵文:,Avalokite?vara),觀世音來自于竺法護與其弟子譯于長安敦煌寺的 《正法華經》。竺法護初譯"光世音" 其弟子聶道真改為"觀世音"。 玄奘新譯為觀自在,中國每略稱為觀音。
