Ge kiln is one of the five famous kilns in the Song Dynasty. It has high standard of meaning, extraordinary and refined, and is deeply loved by the world. Ge Yao was first recorded in Lu Shen's chunfengtang essay in the Ming Dynasty: "Ge Yao, with its light white broken lines, is No. 100 rubbish pieces. In the Song Dynasty, there were Zhangsheng's first and second brothers, both of whom were from Chuzhou. They were in charge of the LiuTian kiln in Longquan. They produced two potteries, which were pure jade, and were highly valued in the world, that is, the official kilns. If one pottery was born, the color was pale, so it was named Ge kiln. "
Ge kiln porcelain is full of yellow brown and iron black cracks, namely "gold wire". The gold wire is finely sliced, yellowish brown, and the iron wire is large open piece, which is iron black. The reason is that the expansion coefficient of the body and glaze is different in the process of porcelain firing, which leads to the cracking of the wire. The glaze color has a high iron content. After firing, the edge glaze is thin, and the body color is also purple. The bottom part without glaze shows iron black, so it is also called "Purple mouth iron foot". Cao Zhao of Ming Dynasty once said in gegu Yaolun: "the old Ge kiln is green in color, different in shade, and has purple mouth and iron feet.". The craft of Ge porcelain is exquisite and exquisite, the shape of the ware is neat and elegant, the glaze is plump and moist like jade, and the style is noble and elegant.
