【藏品簡(jiǎn)介】：袁大頭在貨幣收藏界被稱為銀元之寶，它是我國(guó)近千種近代銀幣中流傳最廣、影響最大的銀元品種，也是近代中國(guó)幣制變革中的一個(gè)重要角色。真版袁大頭三年伍元如今已被各大收藏家和博物館搜刮而去，私人買家唯有在高端拍賣會(huì)上和高端私下交易會(huì)上才能見(jiàn)到。清朝滅亡之后，1912年4月袁世凱出任大總統(tǒng)。北洋政府鑒于當(dāng)時(shí)鑄幣、紙幣十分復(fù)雜，流通的中外貨幣在百種以上，規(guī)格不一，流通混亂，折算繁瑣，民眾積怨，同時(shí)也想借助貨幣改制以解決軍費(fèi)問(wèn)題，便決定鑄發(fā)國(guó)幣。袁世凱為了提高自己的統(tǒng)治地位，把他的頭像鑄于幣面，“袁大頭”由此而來(lái)。

袁大頭普通幣上面（正面）為袁世凱左側(cè)五分像，上鑄“中華民國(guó)三年”，具有很高的歷史文化研究?jī)r(jià)值，寓意“民主、共和、憲政及君主立憲“之思想希冀。下面（背面）為嘉禾之圖案，古稱生長(zhǎng)奇異的禾，古人以之為吉祥的征兆。亦泛指生長(zhǎng)茁壯的禾稻。典出《書(shū)·微子之命》：“ 唐叔 得禾，異畝同穎，獻(xiàn)諸天子。鑄在錢(qián)幣之上寓意國(guó)家重視農(nóng)桑、以民生為本；其另一思想取其家和之諧音，寓意”家和萬(wàn)事興“之意；鑄幣之上當(dāng)政者有國(guó)泰民安、吉祥如意之愿景，民間收藏，寓意"家和萬(wàn)事興"之吉祥之寶，故有很高的收藏研究?jī)r(jià)值。
