[collection introduction]: Copper yuan is the general name of various new copper coins cast since the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, commonly known as copper plate. It is an important part of China's modern monetary system. China's copper coin was born in the 26th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1900). The copper dollar is different from the square hole copper coins of previous dynasties. It has no hole in the middle and is made by imitating Hong Kong copper coins. Its birth indicates that China's metal currency casting technology has entered a new stage of advanced mechanized production from traditional manual sand casting.

Because it bears the distinctive era mark of the revolution of 1911, there is a seal character "Han" in the central circle on the back of the copper coin, and there are dozens of horizontal and straight lines on the bottom of the character "Han", so coin collectors also call it "Han" copper coin“ There are 18 small circles surrounding the "Han" circle, representing the 18 provinces at that time. The 18 small circles are connected around the word "Han", which means that the people of the 18 provinces unite to fight for "expelling tartar prisoners and restoring China".
