鈞釉，即鈞瓷釉，是鈞瓷制品坯胎表面的一層釉。鈞釉是一種藝術釉，它除具有上述特征外，還具有多種顏色、紋路、開片、乳光、圖畫等。鈞釉是由特殊的化學成分組成，是以銅、鐵為著色劑在高溫還原氣氛下燒制而成，并因窯內溫度、氣氛的變化而形成色彩多變、紋路奇特、意境無窮的窯變效果。
筆洗，是用來成水洗筆的器皿，以形制乖巧、種類繁多、雅致精美而廣受青睞，傳世的筆洗中，有很多是藝術珍品。筆洗有很多種質地，包括瓷、玉、瑪瑙、琺瑯、象牙和犀角等，基本都屬于名貴材質，各種筆洗中，最常見的是瓷筆洗，瓷筆洗傳世量最多，目前可以見到的最早作品是宋代五大名窯(哥、官、汝、定、鈞)的產品。這些瓷筆洗一般為敞口，淺腹，形狀多種多樣。
