光緒元寶
光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元,之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造,除中央戶部,地方省所鑄銅元,皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首,是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣,對于現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。廣東省造光緒元寶在中國近代機器鑄幣史上屬一個大系列,其鑄期歷時甚長(從光緒22年-光緒34年[1896至1908年]),歷經十余載,幣模幾經更替,即使同一鑄造年份亦往往由于修模、幣材、工藝技術、工廠管理等諸多因素,造成版別異常繁雜。

銀幣光緒元寶1898年--1907發行,正面鑄有銘文,頂部鑄楷體"XX省造"或"造幣總廠",底部鑄貨幣價值如:"庫平七錢二分",中心直讀"光緒元寶"四字,幣中心為滿文"光緒元寶"。銀幣背面外圈頂部用小號英文標準字體銘"XX省造"或"造幣總廠"字樣,下面為英文貨幣價值,內圈鑄有中心為蟠龍圖,品相精致,其審美風格獨特。錢幣雖小,也可管窺社會文化一斑。

在清代為了流通兌換行用時的方便,官鑄的很多面值是一兩的銀幣多有鑄成實重為庫平七錢二分的壹圓型銀幣版式。如戊申吉字大清銀幣庫平一兩、戶部光緒元寶庫平一兩、光緒三十年湖北省造光緒元寶庫平一兩、中外通寶關平銀一兩等等,都有實際重量為一兩型和重庫平七錢二分的流通壹圓型兩種版式。重庫平七錢二分的壹圓型硬幣實際重量為26.7g左右,外徑大小為39mm,厚度2.5mm。該版鑄造模具不同于實重平一兩版,僅作為軍餉流通過極少,存世量稀少。正面"光緒元寶"以及所有文字的筆劃中均藏有圓點形暗記,絲毫不影響文字書法的大氣沉穩。
